Premiering La Jolla Playhouse, Fall 2025

Producers Robyn Goodman and Josh Fiedler of Aged In Wood Productions and Kumiko Yoshii are pleased to announce that award-winning Broadway playwright Theresa Rebeck has written the book for the Broadway-aimed Working Girl. While she’s had more plays produced on Broadway than any female playwright of our time, Working Girl would mark Rebeck’s Broadway debut as a book writer for a musical. She joins Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award winner Cyndi Lauper, who will provide music and lyrics, and Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley (Come From Away), who will direct.

The Heart, La Jolla Playhouse Summer 2025
This breathtaking new musical is an enlightening, edge-of-your-seat ride.
When a young surfer’s life is cut short, it means a second chance for a stranger. Over the course of 24 suspenseful hours in San Diego, we follow one precious heart on its vital, life-saving journey, and meet the people whose lives are impacted along the way.
With a gripping book by Kait Kerrigan (The Great Gatsby) and a thrilling electronic score by Anne Eisendrath and Ian Eisendrath (music supervisor of Come From Away), The Heart is directed by our own Tony Award-winning director Christopher Ashley and choreographed by Mandy Moore (Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, La La Land). Based on the highly lauded novel by Maylis de Kerangal, Réparer les Vivants, you can expect a unique, powerful and inspiring world premiere.

Coming to London - 2026

In 2007, a mysterious album featuring Nazi-era photographs arrived at the desk of a U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum archivist. As curators unraveled the shocking truth behind the images, the album soon made headlines and ignited a debate that reverberated far beyond the museum walls. Based on real events, Here There Are Blueberries tells the story of these historical photographs—what they reveal about the perpetrators of the Holocaust, and our own humanity.

The Notebook
is a new hit musical based on the best selling novel that inspired the iconic film. Allie and Noah, both from different worlds, share a lifetime of love despite the forces that threaten to pull them apart, in a deeply moving portrait of the enduring power of love.
The Notebook is “full of butterfly-inducing highs, stunning performances, and beautiful songs” (Entertainment Weekly). Chris Jones of The Chicago Tribune says The Notebook is “absolutely gorgeous, not to be missed,” and The New York Daily News calls it “a love story for the ages.”  The Notebook is directed by Michael Greif (Dear Evan Hansen, Next to Normal, RENT) and Schele Williams (The Wiz, Aida) and features music and lyrics by multi-platinum singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson, book by Bekah Brunstetter (NBC’s This Is Us), and choreography by Katie Spelman.

In Development for Broadway

Completed a sold-out run at The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego in 2025.

An original musical comedy from the Emmy Award-winning writers of Veep and Seinfeld and the Tony and Grammy Award nominated lyricist for Mr. Saturday Night.

Elinor Benton finds herself surprisingly and undeniably knocked up—and, since she’s unmarried and this is 19th century England, she has a very big problem. Facing devastating ruin, Elinor and her girlfriends set off on a raucous carriage trip to London seeking the services of Madame Restell, an infamous midwife who advertises cures for women with “female troubles.” Through the lens of the past, this original musical comedy comments on the present, asking the trenchant question, “Can You Believe This Sh*t’s Still Happening in 1810?”
