Producers Robyn Goodman and Josh Fiedler of Aged In Wood Productions and Kumiko Yoshii are pleased to announce that award-winning Broadway playwright Theresa Rebeck will write the book for the Broadway-aimed Working Girl. While she’s had more plays produced on Broadway than any female playwright of our time, Working Girl would mark Rebeck’s Broadway debut as a book writer for a musical. She joins Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award winner Cyndi Lauper, who will provide music and lyrics, and Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley (Come From Away), who will direct.

Current working title - Regency Girls
An original musical comedy from the Emmy Award-winning writers of Veep and Seinfeld and the Tony and Grammy Award nominated lyricist for Mr. Saturday Night.
Elinor Benton finds herself surprisingly and undeniably knocked up—and, since she’s unmarried and this is 19th century England, she has a very big problem. Facing devastating ruin, Elinor and her girlfriends set off on a raucous carriage trip to London seeking the services of Madame Restell, an infamous midwife who advertises cures for women with “female troubles.” Through the lens of the past, this original musical comedy comments on the present, asking the trenchant question, “Can You Believe This Sh*t’s Still Happening in 1810?”
